I'm very curious, how do your lovies snooze? Do they sleep with two feet on the perch/cage or one foot tucked under?

I have never seen Sydney, Adélie or Nube sleep with one foot tucked in.
I have seen Jaime and Lapis do it, and I think I saw Aldora doing it once.

I'm interested to know if your birds have ever slept with one foot tucked in!

Vote once per lovie. I allowed 10 responses so that @MahaSarah can participate too

I was wondering why there were so many! :giggle:
 She has many lovebirds! The poll won´t let you vote the same line twice :)

Thanks :)
Again, more curiosity... Who sleeps with a leg tucked in? Male/female, young/old?

Aoife naps like that sometimes, but how she actually sleeps is in the corner of her cage, on top of this thing, a hard cardboard tube with a seagrass mat on top. The mat used to be a hut, but she never went in it, just would sleep on top. Once she chewed it too much to hang I got the idea to reinforce it with the tube, which she loves to play in!

My foster lovie liked to sleep I this little hut thing. He came with it so I let him continue to sleep in it. So I'm assuming he slept on two feet......

Interesting. Sydney sleeps in a wooden box, so I´m also assuming he sleeps on two feet, but who knows.. he may have one tucked in :lol:During the day he sleeps on the boing or on top of the box on two feet.

Two males, they both have splayed legs and my one of my female little ones. She doesn't have splayed legs. Alice Grace is 2 years old and Sebastian and Feathers are two and a half.

Aww I didn´t know any of yours had leg problems, that´s a shame. I´d love to see your set ups for them. I always have an eye open and a working mind to find new things for Adelies cage (She´s not splayed, she has a closed foot). It´s interesting that they are the ones who sleep with a foot tucked in, I have never seen Adelie do it.

Yes, Sebastian and Feathers are noticeably splayed while their sister Violet isn't as noticeable. They came to my home like that when they were babies but I tried to get them as close together as I could. It really did help them for sure.

I use a lot of rope perches and make them into a tight half oval, it is much more comfortable for them to perch on rope perches instead of any other types of perches.
