I can only go off my experience with lovebirds
pico was amazing pretty sure he was male
I thought it would be lovely for him to have a friend so I got indie
Indie was never super friendly to me she tolerated me
Pico wasn’t bothered by her she tired her hardest to be his friend but he was more bothered about me hubby bought me mango (not sure sex) mango and indie were more friends but not bonded
I got apple pie from my local pet shop not sure sex Apple pie and mango bonded straight away but would let indie be part of their flock pico on other hand Apple pie and mango pick on a lot to point he started plucking so I had to rehome appple pie and mango
Indie and pico seemed to get a lot closer and pico kept indie slightly sane once pico died indie was nuts would just fly to me to attack
So it look me 4 lovebirds to find a bonded pair which weren’t with my first two pico who I first wanted a friend for ended up suffering worse by my choices which I still struggle to forgive myself for
All that being said indie was better with other lovebirds than being on her own
it’s such a hard decision to make because you don’t know how either bird will react to other and only until you do it will you know
I agree with
@TikiMyn you have to get another for you if you can do two separate times out of cage etc if worse cases the hate each other
I still think they befit from having there own kind even if it’s just to talk to each other
