Since I decided this year to finally get a big xmas tree, the cage and Hoosier had to go from the spot near the window. So I moved him into my room with Kazoo. I have lived with Kazoo in my master for the last 6 plus years. My master is a very large and long room. So it's great for him with many windows and he's happy there. Since moving the two boys together, they both have become more chill and extremely sweet and well behaved. They are no longer trying to chew things as they did before, walking the floor. Primarily my furniture that is covered with towels all along the corners.
When it's nighttime feeding time, they both do a reverse roll and go into each others cage. I have not figured this one out. But Kazoo will go into Hoosier's cage and chill. Explore his toys and and just chill. Maybe the last 11 years that they were in other rooms, they truly wanted to be with one another more than their mutual together time until Hoosier had to go back to his cage. Hoosier hated having to leave to go, and it was evident every now and then I would get a warning nip of the disapproval that it was time to go back.
This change has been a good one. They are just so sweet, happy and they sit together preening each other. But when it's time to go back in their cages, they do it themselves, or they step up perfectly at the sign of my hand signaling it's time to go inside. They are together all the time, they see and hear each other and I want to say that a bonded pair of buddies bolsters the fact they truly need to be together 24/7. I thank myself for deciding to buy a big tree, it has opened my eyes that even though they got together time, it wasn't enough and they need to be with each other all the time.
A feel good read and an eye opener for me.
