I don't want to derail @ume's thread or take any credit for their artwork, so I'm answering here instead.How did you do that?
The program I use for all my image editing is GIMP. It's a free open source software similar to Photoshop. The specific tools I used to erasing the notebook lines were the Healing Tool, which essentially samples the texture from a selected area and blends it over wherever you're brushing, and a little bit of the Clone Tool, which functions in much the same way except it copies everything in the selected area instead of just the texture.
