Sick cockatiel won't eat anything but millet

Hello!

My parrot has recently developed an eye infection. I brought her to a vet and have started to treat her with the meds the vet gave me. Her eye looks better, but she stopped eating her seeds. She goes up to the food bowl, nibbles on the seeds without eating it and then goes back to her perch to sleep. She only eats millet when I hand feed it to her. Has anyone ever had this issue? How did you deal with it? I'm going to call the vet again tomorrow since he's not in today, but I would love to have some help or suggestions in the meantime.

I’d feed millet on demand until I saw the vet again.

I would feed her anything that she will eat like the millet you feed by hand ..and make sure she is drinking water ...I would talk to the vet and see if she needs something more ..best of luck

She drinks! She just eats very little. I'll feed whatever I can manage to let her eat by hand until I can get hold of the vet.

I had to collar and separate one of my lovebird boys recently. He stopped eating and drinking, so I bought millet spray which he quickly took to, so he's been living off of millet spray for a week.
As long as they eat something, that is the important thing.

I agree with the others, feed her all she wants while getting treatment and waiting for the vet. I know people can sometimes become nauseated from antibiotics- maybe it's a similar effect for her?
