There's something not right with 1 of my birds. He's barely chirping and when he does, he's quieter than normal, keeps slowly closing his eyes and occasionally walking from one end to the other a few times on his perch. The closest vet that i use that sees birds (1 hour and 20 minutes away) is now closed for 4 days. No other vet in my area will look at him and the emergency number to the vet I use, doesn't even take on birds. Will keep checking vets further away but probably none that will be open due to it being Christmas. Nothing I give him has changed so not sure whats wrong. I have a travel cage, should I put him in that even tho it might cause him more stress..?? He isn't tame and when he's been in it before, he just climbed around constantly. Only thing I can think of is there has been a bit of a drop in temperature and draught in their room due to crap windows and windy weather but it's the same every year so not sure if it could just be that..?? 20231223_120748.jpg 20231223_113932.jpg

What a beautiful bird. There are some online vet consultation places. I am not sure what all they can do but it might be worth trying. I hope he'll be ok. And where are you located? Perhaps someone here might have some suggestions for vets.

Thank you. Been searching but not found any. I have found an exotic vet which is closer than the one I use buy with them being closed for Christmas. The avian vet is only in a few days a week too. I'll try giving the emergency number a call and see if they actually see birds

Sorry just seeing this again. If they can still diagnose and prescribe antibiotics etc if needed, I would take him. Please keep us posted.
