I have limited options for adding lighting here, but I'd like to do the best I can for my birds. In spite of having mostly re-done wiring, some of my fixtures are old and cause fluorescents to flicker. Other rooms have no wiring for overhead fixtures. For those of you who have added lighting for your birds, could you show me what you did?

I was using the Featherbrites and the Avilux bulbs mounted over the cage until I realized they were no good. I recently bought very simple electronic ballasts for t8 tubes (with no plastic/glass cover) that I will be installing over the birds' cages but I am moving in less than a month so I figured might as well wait until I'm in the new place to do so. I plan on going with Philips fluorescent tubes that are rated at 98 CRI and 5000 K.
