Should I give my GCC fish every once in a while

I read that larger birds like macaws should be given a chicken leg or something once a month or so. Does this apply to smaller birds like GCCs? obviously a smaller amount like a small slab of fish but i was wondering if it applies to them at all or not.

Some avian vet specialists do not condone animal proteins given to their patients. And while some vets are okay with it, the type of animal protein given matters.

I personally would not give fish to anything other than a sea-faring bird. Mercury and heavy metals are too high for my liking.
