Blueberry has arrived

she came yesterday but she was terrified so I put her in the spare room for the night so she would sleep and get used to her new surroundings.

She’s incredibly skittish even entering the room causes her to cling onto the side of the cage, today I tried offering her a nut but she wasn’t having it so I just hung out in the room with her and she eventually stood on a perch and looked slightly less scared which I’m considering a victory .

My main goals right now are for her to be comfortable enough for me to give her cage a good clean and get her on a pellet/veggie diet.

I’m going to use this thread as a log of progress and I’ll try to update it pretty regularly.

offered her some pellets and fruit a few minutes ago I have a 2 hour timer and if she doesn’t eat some of the pellets by then I’ll put seeds in the bowl as well.

Ironically she is loving the blueberrys!

Try adding some green beans as another introduction. They are a very popular veg with my little plumhead. He likes all kinds of green beans but seems to like long ones more than sugar snaps!

I am so happy to see how quickly little Blueberry comes around. Luckily little bird found a loving home

I’ll try that, I’m preparing a chop today so I’ll see if she likes it, she seems to like most veggies and fruits I have given her so far but wasn’t a fan of nuts or pellets.

Guess who’s coming out of her cage for the first time in who knows how long today!
Yesterday after about 20 minutes of sitting next to her cage and holding a bit of capsicum she finally took a few bites from it!
And she has been super antsy all morning so since it’s the weekend I thought about time to let her out, she’s alert and nervous but isn’t freaking out and came out after only a few minutes of her door being open.
