I am curious to know which "rare" parrot species are everyone's favorites. I'll start off with a couple species I find fascinating and absolutely gorgeous.

This is my favorite. Pesquet's Parrot aka Vulturine Parrot.

This is a juvenile Red Necked Amazon in the Syndicate Rain Forest in Dominica. It was amazing to watch these guys flying around and to hear this one jabbering away while he was relaxing in the tree top.

Wow. I've never seen or heard of these. Amazing color!

I'm very fond of Hawkheads. Not sure if they fall into the category of the truly rare, but I find them amazing.

And my other favorite is the Vinaceous Amazon. This one belongs to a lady in my Amazon group. This girls' name is Velma.
