I am changing Ethel's cage because her old one has some coat chipping (I cheaped out originally on a cage). I have been told that the Brisbane Cage from Exotic Nutrition has stronger coating and should work better but I wanted to ask what people here thought. Should I try it or get a different cage? I have heard of people keeping sennies in it but don't know if the coating actually holds up.

Does she chew on the bars? That may have a big impact on how well the powder coating holds up. King's has a reputation for good powder coating but haven't used any of their newer stuff so can't tell you if that reputation has been maintained.

I think @Xoetix has a Brisbane? Maybe she will pop in with her thoughts.

I don't think so really? At least not until she figured out that an area chipped which now she has been picking at it to try and eat it (at least I saw her doing it once, ended up moving stuff around to deter it). I have noticed other spots with minor chipping and it just seems to be from climbing around

I actually just bought the Brisbane cage a few months ago for my Meyer's. He's a pretty strong chewer and I don't have any complaints so far :). It's very roomy and has much stronger bars than those cheap cages, with nice solid doors that he can't open from the inside.

I ended up ordering it and I have had no complaints yet! She seems to like it more as well.

My Senegal Jason had to be put in a stainless steel cage eventually. He removed the powder coat on 2 different cages.
