UPDATE:

Bad luck this time-- there's only one male in the clutch and the breeder is selling him in a pair with one of the females (an unrelated bird whose egg was hatched along with this clutch). I'm not upset, as I knew that there was a chance for this to happen as she'd told me beforehand, and also because I'll have my chance again soon as her next clutch will be hatching in a few weeks :)

She also told me that if the person wanting the pair falls through when she calls them this week, then I can have the male in the current clutch, but I'm really not counting on that and am fine with waiting a little longer-- heck, I've already waited two years for this, a little more time is nothing! :D

(so you guys will have to wait a little longer too for all the pictures I'm going to spam you with!)

Hi guys well we have purchased some excellent birds from this breeder and just recently purchased another black headed caique girl. We are very particular where we buy birds from we have had numerous vet checks done and birds have passed no issues.

Hello again! Meant to update this thread a few days ago with the good news, but now I have video, so I'd like to introduce you all to my new baby:

He's the one on the right, and his name is Wyatt :D
He's around ten weeks old and is progressing well, exploring his cage, coming out for playtime, and trying all sorts of new foods, and the breeder has told me that he's very sweet and easy-going

Wyatt should be coming home sometime around the end of Feb-- I'm so excited!!!

Congratulations! What a great breeder! May I ask how much the breeder is asking for all he puts in to his birds?

She really is wonderful-- she handles them every day, calls them by name, teaches them recall, gives them a huge variety of foods to try and eat, socialises them with other birds, harness trains them, and takes them on little car trips to introduce them to it.

Wyatt's price is $1,500 which is actually very good for a caique in Australia :)

Thank you! She really does breed some gorgeous and well looked after birds, I'm very lucky to have found her :)

Yeah you are fortunate, congrats on your little guy.:)

Thank you for answering. I would pay that for a bird and a breeder that do such wonderful work! I am asking because caiques are already expensive where I live (Northern VA ) . They are around $1000 here and come with no training at all.

You're welcome! To be honest he's actually a bit of a steal, as most other breeders I've found charge more and also require freight, and they aren't harness trained either :)
