Say Hello To Our New Baby :)

She is gorgeous and so sweet and friendly. We've never had a baby bird before; they are really just so trusting and curious, it's incredible. When we brought our adult blue head home we couldn't approach her for weeks! But this baby stepped right up and was grinding her beak and wanting to hang out. She's heavy too - much bigger than our Ladybird! We are still working on a name... thinking of maybe Demeter, DeeDee or Demi for short.

She's doing great! We did decide on Demeter, but her nickname has evolved into "little bit", probably because her big sister is LadyBird, who we call LB. So we have two LBs. She is a hearty eater and she and LadyBird get along wonderfully. I'm looking forward to when she molts her breeder's clip and can fly around like LadyBird and make the most of all the perches in the house! And once it warms up, we renovated our aviary outside so the girls can get some fresh air and sunshine and room to move around.
