Sammy's story:

I am sure most of you have heard it, right??

If not, here the is the story! A person on a message board that I was on at the time, posted a ad for a rehomed amazon from their local vet's office. I got Sammy my Lilac Crowned Amazon on August 18th, 2006,and I got her from a couple that was moving. Sammy had bitten her owners about 3 years previously ,and they had not touched her since. She was in a very small cage with 2 wooden perches and 2 old toys,and she is like a totally different birdie now...I feel like I have had her forever, She was eating Zupreem when I got her,and had stress bar's all over her feather's (she still has a few on her back).

Sammy has turned into the sweetest bird I have ever had, she is soo empathetic, and knows when I don't feel well, etc, that she should be quiet. Sammy has come soo far since I got her! She is now flighted, flies to her cage on command and we are working on her flying to me on command! Sammy is the queen of the flock, hehe! She loves showers now, and when I first got her she was so scared and hated showers.

Sammy is absolutely gorgeous and I am SOOOOO jealous!! A LCA is my dream bird and they are extremely rare here in Canada. I have talked to a breeder and if I wanted one, I would be on a 5-7 year waiting list and it would cost me $2200 for the bird alone!!!
I'm so glad that Sammy found you and has made a complete turnaround!!
