Sam Mealy's feathers are finally growing out!

...and I am SOOO excited! She actually flew from her playtop almost to the kitchen. She's moving forward, and to the ground, instead of straight down. Two new sets of primaries on each side have come in. I am hoping in a few more months, they will ALL be back.

She is quite a big bird, and I am curious to see how much she will fly. It is clear that she wants to come wherever we are, and slowly getting used to being able to fly to us (instead of waddling!) I can hardlly wait!!

My Mealy is all over the place. He loves to fly, and he's got a slight baby clip, only a few inside we clipped, outer flights were left alone. You can't miss a Mealy in flight! I have been working with mine to fly to me by calling his name and he does.

The sound is like no other, it's where they end up that may surprise you.

that's wonderful news Monica. Jacob started flying yesterday and now he comes flying every time I call him. He's had his wings for some time now but just didn't realize that he could fly.
