safely remove bug infestation?

hello!! ive been having a really bad confused flour beetle infestation in my room for about two years now. they came from a few bags of kaytee cockatiel seed back before i had my birds converted to roudybush pellets.

i still live with my parents so i have nowhere to stash my birds while the bug spray settles bc there are several bird-eating cats and dogs in the house. my mom offered to have them stay in her room for a day and she would make sure none of them animals get in, but from what i hear, one day is not nearly long enough.

i have wood floors, vaccuum multiple times a day, freeze all my birds food, tried cleaning every inch of my room several times, and have tried bug traps.

regarding bug spray, i dont want to board my birds somewhere for a whole week because 1) that's way too much money because i have six birds, 2) i dont feel comfortable leaving my birds for that long, and 3) my birds would think i abandoned them and i would lose their trust.

the bugs unfortunately eat the pellets now that the seed is gone, and despite me keeping their food in the freezer, the bugs still eat the food when i set it out for my birds, plus my birds fling their food everywhere. the bugs get into literally everything. for example, i have a lidded container where i keep some plushies. the other day, i opened the container and found about a hundred dead bugs stuck in my plushies fur.

i am going insane. i have found these bugs crawling on me in my sleep countless times. i cannot put up with this anymore and am desperate for it to get resolved. does anyone have any solutions? thank you

Oh MY! I cannot even imagine what you are going thru. The only solution that comes to mind, is to take the birds and cats/dogs out of the house, and "Bomb" the house. the other idea that comes to mind is AGAIN take all the animals out and rent a Ozone Generator. I found out thru an old job working for a restoration company that these machines not only kill mold and bacteria but they safely kill bugs that are in your house. Everyone has to leave the house while it is being used. You can Google the directions on using them. We had issues with bugs many years ago, and my boss let me use the Ozone Generator and it worked like a charm. No pesticide to worry about later on. Good Luck.

Well, I really cannot tell you much. But having zero carpet here, this early summer we had a little flea thing with two of the 3 dogs. I damp mop daily, 2x some days. I was finding a few on the mop that I was rinsing in the sink.

We got treatment for the dogs, fleas are now gone. I have Barn Dog shampoo. That is the name and it has all natural stuff in it. Neem oil for sure inhibits the central nervous system in many insects.

So I damp mop with alittle of that in my water!

And I make a water spray too and can mist outside plants that I have seen spider mite activity since had a dry bad drought here for like 2 months!

Diatamaceous earth is another thing you can try that is natural

thank u so much. do u know if a day after use is long enough for my room to be safe for them? the issue is that i dont have anywhere to put them for longer than a day

I use just a few drops in it. Pleasant smell, 100% natural ingredients as well. That is now the go to shampoo for them since they are also intermittent Lake dogs. Not now, blue green algae is in the lakes not chancing them. So we wait til fall, winter and spring.

It's a cool 21C winters day here in Aust.
No wonder mum's bit of a flea thing in the Budgie avairies has taken so long to resolve.
Ivermec the birds, then grease them every 2nd day for a month, while burning the avairy floors (sand floors) then Ivermec again.
