I was walking around my backyard when I noticed this little branch saying hello. It fell from this tree (I’m 99.99% positive.)

We don’t spray our trees, so I know it will be safe in that matter. I just need to know what kind of tree it is, and if it’s safe! My best bet is a white maple tree. This is the branch:

You could use a plant identifier app

It is probably going to be impossible for someone to identify that tree with only a picture of the trunk, old stick and bark. Is there any foliage? Can you post a pic of the whole tree?

Definitely. Since it’s winter, I can’t get any photos of the foliage..I can’t get a good closeup and this is the best I can get. here’s a photo:

Is that useful?
I don’t think I should just take the risk, not knowing what tree it is....

Not at all useful for me lol. I am not the best with identifying trees with much more than you have to look at so I am not going to be of any help with just sticks I am sorry

I would not take the risk if I was you- I would want to know exactly what tree it is and also I would prefer much fresher branches than what the one you have looks like, maybe it is fresh but to me it looks like it has been sitting on the ground for some time?

Look up "identify trees by bark" - that might help

I’m not gonna take the risk. I’ll bring it back where it was.
