My BF talked to the vet today and she said Chester is not in pain and is doing much better. She's in a heated hospital cage @ the Avian Medical Center and apparently eating and chirping. I pick her up tomorrow morning. We have to watch her and weigh her to make sure she isn't producing more uterine fluid, but we're hopeful that we can keep her a bit longer. I'm so glad she's better!

Well, the vet tech called this morning to say that Chester had produced more uterine fluid and so they wanted to keep her one more day. I will call in the morning and see how she is doing. I'm very scared.

She's finally home! As soon as she heard the other birds, she started singing. She seems a little tired now, but she's ok and we're watching her carefully for any fluid buildup. She's on antibiotics ( Clavamox) for the infection, am & pm, for 2 weeks.

Thank you. Since the cancer diagnosis earlier in the summer I've been pretty adamant that they do what can be done to help her live longer without putting her through pain. Luckily my vet is very understanding and gives detailed expanations of her care. I know she's on borrowed time, but I'm borrowing every second possible. Thanks again for all of the cyberhugs and support.

I'm so glad Chester could come home with you and you're able to enjoy each day together. That's so valuable in the long run. I've always felt grateful I had one last day with my cat at home before he passed away.

Every spare moment with them is precious and although a stressful sad time also you would not have not known your pet and be spared all of this would you. Think they come into our lives for a very good reason and depending on how positively we respond the struggle it sometimes gives us, it also makes us a lot stronger as a person to deal with any thing in the future.Do hope your time together is going to be quality time and that you also look after yourself through it all.
