Adopting an older rescue sometimes gives us shorter time then acquiring a puppy.

I would drive 20 hours round trip again, in a heartbeat for my life breed, as I did for my sweet Cappy.

The day we went to NCSU for Cappy's eye, I found this lump between his shoulders.

Well, today my Vet came to the house. She aspirated it, went home to look at the slides. She said some cells were alarming, but not granulated. Which is probably better I believe more aggressive cells are this way.

I will know maybe Monday the results, hoping it is a low grade and off to NCSU we will go!

In the meantime, I will up his tumeric paste. Please keep us in your thoughts. August will be his 6th gotcha day, I need my monkey nugget more then this!

Pics from today, my little shadow of love.

And as we make Daddy's bday cake, what the heck Cappy enjoyed some fat free cool whip. Just a few licks :)

It's the sad part of taking in a senior. But the rewards are still greater. It breaks my heart seeing senior animals in rescues. I just took Elvis to the vet and was telling him that I was making an appointment for Scooter, who is 20. He said, do you realize how old that is for a tiel? And I laughed and said, oh that's nothing- wait to you meet Rosie. (30). I hope Cappy will be okay.

I am hoping it isn't aggressive. My first sheltie had a tumor in the same area. Same lump feeling like a golfball. We did surgery to remove in June and by Dec he was gone due to renal failure, along with multi organs that looked bad.

I pray, if it's not something we can remove, I am onboard to loving him for the time we have.

I am realistic when it comes to these things. I will take one step at a time. First to see the grade of tumor, and weigh our options as to treatment. I love him so!

We haven't been together long enough!

My deepest sympathy, Claire. I know what it is to have a sheltie shaped shadow. I'm rooting for you both.

I just talked with the Daddy guy. The Vet also aspirated a small round bump on Bella, it is fine.

We will see what the cytology looks like and hopefully be able to have this removed and see what options NC State has in cancer advancements in today's day for oncology. I pray this is early caught and a low grade tumor.
