I love hummingbirds! My mom gets hummingbirds at her house too.

When we go camping in July we put out the feeder for them. We have had up to 7 at the same time feeding and the squawking and the visciousness of them is unbelievable for such small birds. In august when we go again, only 1 or 2 show up, the rest have gone already.
I get lots of pics but always blurry!

I have dozens of them at my lake, and I swear that the long lasting heat has messed up their sense of migration! The swallows and wrens are all moving in, but the hummingbirds are still here! It’s so much fun around my cabin—like a CRAZY bird playground! Titmice and swallows and wrens and hummingbirds and cardinals all together in the same area. So much fun to watch. I am sure the hummingbirds will be moving on any day now, though, since it’s finally getting chilly here in West Central Texas.
