Rough feathers

Hi all,

I got a new baby last week. She’s 11 weeks old n full of love. It didn’t even take 10 mins for her to bid with me. When she came home, I noticed that her feathers looks bit weird to me. The are rough in appearance n have this weird split ends. Has anyone seen this in their cockatiel before and know what could be potential reason? Hope it’s not some disease.
I am attached a closeup picture of her feathers to give a better idea.

She just needs a good soaking bath and she'll be fine!

Petting on the back, rough handling or just rough play can cause that. Petting is best kept to the head.

Congratulations on your new cockatiel! At 11 weeks old, her feathers are bound to be a little messy, and I’m sure they will smooth out as she gets older.
