It looks very nice but is it chicken wire? If so it's generally considered unsafe for parrots due do zinc and galvanized coating. I don't want to sound critical but just want to make sure your birdies are safe.

To make chicken wire safe for flying birds.
It is recommended to expose it to weathering for 6 - 12 months before use.
A quick fix can be achieved by cleaning with vinegar.
Not as good, but OK.

Ya, its chicken wire.
Thought it would be safe as my birds are not climbers.
And I plan to pant the wire black, and wood off white. With child safe paint, this summer.
OK, will wash the wire with vinegar today.
Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the heads up everyone.

I can do that.
And forgot to say, my birds are back in the small cage entel I get the big one done.
Anyone know how warm it needs to be to paint, thinking I might as well paint the hole thing befor I put the new wire on.
We are still at cool temps. 4c day time.

Thanks, but I wont be paintting, at lest for now.
The only wire I can find is plastic covered wire, so I have to use it. Or its zink wire.

Oh,,,,, well to late. They said it was safe for birds. I dont know.
I will keep an eye out for any chewing. If they start chewing on the wire then its back to living in the small cage.
There is nothing else I can do.
