Rope wrap for PVC play gym (instead of vet wrap)?

I have a few PVC play gyms and have been using WildCow brand vet wrap to wrap around the perches. But the vet wrap gets pretty sticky after some time. Any suggestions on alternative materials (maybe some type of rope or flat braided cord) that I could use to wrap the perches instead of vet wrap? I'd also appreciate any suggestions on where to buy. I realize that if I switched to some type of rope or braided cord, it will take more material to wrap the perches compared to the vet wrap. My senior tiels who regularly used the PVC play gyms passed away. When the play gyms were being used daily, I'd also change the vet wrap frequently (well before the vet wrap would get sticky). The tiels I adopted in the past year haven't had much interest yet in the play gyms (maybe once every few weeks, if even), but I still want to continue to have the play gyms available to them, hoping they'll take an interest. Until the play gyms are used more frequently again, it'd be great to use something else to wrap the perches that wouldn't need to be changed out as frequently as vet wrap (of course, if/when the play gyms are used, I'd still change out any wrap material that got soiled). I’ve previously wrapped pvc pipe stands in sisal rope with no issues.
