Thank you so very much for this post.He sure did make an impact an more people then I knewBonnie, don’t cry, but I have a little story for you.
I remember finding Knuckles’s photo on here, saving it, and showing it to a patient (a little girl who had become a double below the knee amputee after a motor vehicle accident)-for encouragement. She is very young and wouldn’t willingly try prosthesis or attend her kindergarten class since the surgery. We showed her Knuckles and one of the nurses even had a beanie baby bird that she got to put on her shoulder if she used her prosthetics. We told her if a bird could climb without toes, a little girl could walk without ankles.
After showing her Knuckles, we searched and found many other good birds on the internet like Knuckles. I think it was knuckles, and those other “don’t tell me I’m handicapped” birds that truly made a difference in her outcome.
I’m so very sorry for your loss. I hope your sadness fades to only happy memories and smiles soon replace the tears.
I'm so sorry that I made you cry more! He'll be missed by so many,he truly was one of a kind .I thought I was cried out until I read thisThank you I knew he had fans, this message means so very much to me
What a BEAUTIFUL WONDERFUL story-- made me cry... This shows how a little sharing can devolop into caring and how much that can help someone else... That little girl owes her future to that sharing and caring! God bless you for your foresight and ingenuity!Bonnie, don’t cry, but I have a little story for you.
