Trying out something new for my little picky eater.
1oz each: spelt, steel cut oats, brown rice, chia and figs (yup he likes those)
2 1/2cups of water.
Bring to a boil water, add above ingredients. Stir until boiling again, turn down to medium to low simmer. Cook 20 minutes ,stirring often. Turn off heat, cover let sit 30-45 minutes to allow water to be absorbed. Drain if needed. Chill overnight add veggies, right now he is on peas and broccoli kick, but any frozen veggies would do. This makes 20 // 1oz boxes for freezer. The only change I would make is to cut the chia to 1/2oz otherwise it pretty gelatinous and sticky. Did video for packaging up for the freezer

Would this be good for budgie? Looks easy to make if the birdies would eat it.
You could try I'm not saying they would like it. But cut the recipe in half.
