I came home from work to find Opal dead. I was giving the birds their dinner, Opal was not screaming like usual, and I noticed her cage was empty. I refused to near the cage, knowing that her time came.
She had a cancerous mass inside her, I knew she was going to pass some time, I just didn't expect it to be so soon.
She hadn't been eating much, so I had took her to the vet, that's when they found the mass. I decided to let her live her final days at home, and that if she was clearly struggling I'd have her euthanized. She was a fighter until the end, she will be missed.
The last photo I took of her. She was spending time with the flock.
