I recently adopted a rescued cockatiel. They said they estimate her to be 2 years old. The rescue also said she has already laid eggs verifying she’s a she. Anyways, she does a very noticeable head bob-the type when a cockatiel is looking around its surroundings also it as if it’s looking for a place to fly- however her is extremely exaggerated. I also noticed she was tapping her break this evening on the couch. Perhaps she wanted attention? I know males do this. It’s all new to me as my other females never behaved this way.

It's not common, but there are stories of female cockatiels doing typically male behaviors - including singing!

It's possible that some of these behaviors were something her previous owners reacted positively to, which encouraged her to keep doing them. :)
