Hi, this is Rainbow, my rescue lovebird. I don’t know much about him as he was rescued from the outdoors by my neighbour who brought him over to me. I was unsuccessful finding original owner. He’s been with me for a couple of months and has chosen me to bond to. He is very affectionate and will happily ride on my shoulder and nuzzles my neck. Today he was vibrating and make funny, almost purring noises. I think that’s a sign of affection?

Sorry you couldn´t find their owner, I also have a lost bird living with me for the same reason.

None of my birds purr, but I have read on here that others birds do when they are content.
My birds do beak grind, usually when falling asleep, resting or last thing at night. You can hear the grind so it´s quite distinct.
Nice to see he is happy

I'm in BC, Canada and it was cold in Feb before he was rescued. I think he was "picked on" by other birds as he was missing a patch of feathers back of his neck where he can't reach. They're starting to grow back Rainbow grinds as well. He's a delightful guy.

I am also in bc, and this last feb was really cold for most of the province! I am so happy that he survived, though if you are in the lower mainland it would have been a smidge warmer tHan the interior.
