(Sorry for going a little off track Rebecca)
I much prefer locusts. They are nicer to have around. Her favorite food is crickets but I despise everything about crickets so I only get them as treats
You...... despise crickets more than cockroaches? She prefers around 5/8", but will take up to 1" (dubias)

110%.You...... despise crickets more than cockroaches?
Locusts are illegal in the statesI much prefer locusts. They are nicer to have around.
I have:
-Mealworms
-Dubias
-Sometimes various live foods for fish
-Locusts
-Crickets
-Wax worms
-Calciworms
-Pinkie mice
-Flighless fruit flies
-Micro crickets
I have at least 8 of these at any one time, but can have all at once!
So I basically have at least 1000 pets...
Well, when you put it like that...... I'M CONVINCED.110%.
Crickets live a few weeks is all, so you have to keep buying them. They Chirp. They stink to high heaven. And it doesn't matter how good you or your system is, one will always escape and drive you crazy until the day it dies.
Dubia Roaches rarely escape, they are kind of adorably dumb, they live a lot longer, and have next to no smell. They are also more nutritional. Oh, and they can't breed unless they have temps of about 90 degrees, but they are easy to breed if you so desire. They are also silent lol.

That's annoying! I find them the best. Those, with the mealworms, make up my skinks' main dietLocusts are illegal in the states
I'm sorry, but I just realized that to someone who is not a reptile person, being SAD that you can't have locusts in the US would look so weird. (Not to me though, I'm definitely a reptile person....... albeit without reptiles.)Locusts are illegal in the states
I hope I'm not being too nosey asking why .Are there any reptiles(or amphibians, I guess, but reptiles are preferred) that live around 5 years? Is that wishful thinking?
I know. It's one of those things you don't realize is a thing until you're in itI'm sorry, but I just realized that to someone who is not a reptile person, being SAD that you can't have locusts in the US would look so weird. I don't mind at all! It's just that I'm under aged, and I don't think my parents would be super pleased having to look after my pets.I hope I'm not being too nosey asking why .
If you don't feel like answering , I understand.
Ok gotcha ! thanksI don't mind at all! It's just that I'm under aged, and I don't think my parents would be super pleased having to look after my pets.
