I'm still assessing. I took him to Paraíso personally, skipping the vet. So when I got home, I got Adélie out of her cage and brought her to sit with us for a good while, she would call out for him and then look around waiting for him to fly over. Really sad to watch. After a while, she snuggled into the nook of my arm and preened and was sleepy so she hopped onto my shoulder and had a sleep by my neck.isn’t he bonded how is his partner without him
I don't know.do you know what happened
Oh I am so sorry I just think they hide it so well don’t they and we all know you would have taken him if you thought anything was slightly up big hugs I really hope your ok as can be it’s worse thing ever finding them on bottom of floorI'm still assessing. Gis called from the other room and she responded, I don't know if she thinks that was Sydney (not that they sound the same), but I took her back to her cage and gave her a hunk of millet which she sat eating.
I don't know.
Late last night he was different. He had been fine all day. I went to sort the evening dishes out before bedtime, and I had done a few bowls and then I noticed he was a bit squinty eyed. I emptied out and filled his food up, and he hopped in the food bowl and ate while I did everyone elses bowls. I had a bad feeling so I left the light on and the door open and went back and checked on him a little later and he was sleeping in the food bowl with Ade. Something I have seen her do but not him. I turned the light off and they bowl headed off to their night perch, the platform (so I figured they napped in the bowl because the light was left on). He seemed to strugle to get up there the first jump from the boing to perch, but got there fine on the second try.
I left the door open all night checking in on him, and he was sleeping fine.
I set my alarm early thinking I would do a vet run this morning if he still had a squint. He didn't seem so sick to deem it an emergency, it was all very little, very suble things.
I woke up at dawn to find him on the cage floor.
I'm shocked at how suble the things were. I am the best of worry warts, and will take the birds to the vet as soon as they look a little wobbly or vomit etc.
But I never saw this coming.
I feel robbed of another ten years with him. He was a healthy bird, he should have enjoyed a longer life.
None of the others seem unwell at all. They all ate the same things in the last few days. Sydney had eaten pellets in the two days prior, and I filled the bowl with seed mix last night.
