Regurgitation or Vomit?

Hi all, I hope I'm doing this in the right section!
So I was just sitting here on my computer with my cockatiel (<1yr) on the keyboard (as usual) and she suddenly just threw up loads of seeds and some water at me.
I'm hoping this is just regurgitation, as she does quite like me and I always show affection to her when she comes to me. She also is acting completely normally and preening away as she always does.
I'll attatch a photo.
Thanks in advance

Also as you can see in the photo it is completely undigested.

It's hard to tell from a photo. How it came up is usually most telling. For instance:

Regurgitated food is good brought up voluntarily from the crop, usually with a controlled pumping head action.

Vomiting is an uncontrolled action, and often involves the food being flung as the bird shakes their head.

Unfortunately I wasn't really looking at her as she did it, but I think she flicked her head as it came out. She's been acting completely normal otherwise, no strange symptoms etc. And afterwards she continued to act normally. I saw somewhere that regurgitated food is usually undigested while vomit is always partially or wholly digested. Right now she and her sister are asleep on me.
I so hope she's OK :o:

I wouldn't say that's necessarily true either. Ripley regurgitates often and it always looks at least partially digested.

Flicking to me would indicate vomit. Sometimes they just get something that went down the wrong way. I would just monitor activity and poop, etc.

Ok. Thanks, maybe it was, I wouldn't think it would be due to any illness though, at least I hope not. She's just been eating, pooing normally and singing (mostly baby squeaks, this is normal, both girls do it) a bit. I'll try and keep you updated!

Agree, hormonal regurge in my home is actually always digested

Alright. She's still acting completely normally. Something probably just didn't sit with her well! :)

If these are young newly weaned really keep an eye on them . So easy to develop sour crop .
When I've had mine in antibiotics a couple of times develop crop yeast , and that's the only time I saw them spit up whole food . It was still a passive regurge, not a vomit , but it was from being sick in the crop

Ok. Squacco hatched in early may, so she's about 7 months old, not that young, she's through the most part of her first moult. She weaned early too, as did her brothers and sisters.

Ok that's not freshly weaned when crop issues are more common. Doesn't rile it out either tho.
Hopefully a one off , stuck seeds or something

I certainly hope so. Its been a good 24hrs since she did it yesterday and she's shown no other signs of illness. I'll keep watching :)

Another update! She just did it again yesterday, and this time I saw it better. She bobbed her head several times, then shook it as the seeds came out. I think both times must have been regurgitations, also its only been when she's being exceedingly cuddly.
