Hi everyone

I was looking at a rehome RFM over the weekend. I have a question about feather color. This 10 year old had a few very pretty yellow feathers mixed in with the orangy/red feathers on its shoulders only. I haven't see this before has anyone else? I wish I had a picture but don't.

Without a picture, it's hard to know exactly what you mean, but I can say the RFMs do tend to develop more orange and darker orange as they get older. I'd expect the shoulders to be orange at 10 yrs, but maybe this individual is on a different schedule :)

I would be concerned about yellow feathers. Orange yes. Yellow can be a bad sign-bad diet, kidney/liver issues. I would ask for a CBC on the bird with the yellow.
