Has anyone tried the quick finder clippers on parrots? They make them for cats and dogs and the one for cats says it works with other animals but I've not found anything on the internet saying if these things will work or not. Since I can't see the quick one of these devices would be a big help for me when I clip nails.

Hum...why not try them and let the rest of us know! :D I think I wouldn't mind giving them a try either (after you say how they do).

I wouldnt use it.

I just go by site and my birds have black toenails. Just clip a little at a time until you lear where the quick is and what it looks like as you get close to it.

I would be interested as well! Koopa's nails grow so dang quickly that I can hardly keep up, and I ALWAYS seem to quick her :(

The ads I just watched on youtube for it say it's for cats, dogs and birds. So I imagine it'd work.

Maybe the one I had when I was younger was defected, but it didnt work.

It had the green light show even if we were at the very bottom of the toe.

I caution everyone who uses this. Go very slowly, tiny itty bitty bit at a time.

I would only use a good nail file with my severe macaw or grey. Never consider using a clipper and would only let an EXPERIENCED nail clipping vet do it if necessary.
