What type of fish do you think is the most underrated? Feel free to reply with your own opinion. To me, I think it's the common goldfish. The ones that you can get at a pet store for 40 cents each, or at a carnival for free. Although they are an invasive species if released into the wild, but it is the people's fault for releasing them in the first place, so I think they deserve better. A lot of people underestimate their maximum size and life expectancy as well. They can grow over 10 inches when kept in a large enough area, and can live ten to fifteen years (similar to a budgie's lifespan
) or even higher if in a pond or outside- 43 years being the longest living goldfish
, but many people keep them alone in small fishbowls because of their price and size, and many don't care if they die because there are so many of them. Therefore, they deserve a life just as good as the more popular fish species.
