Question about - OHPA Bird Fair Medina Ohio

Good Morning! I am wondering if anyone here has ever attended the OHPA Bird Fair? We are thinking about attending as a vendor, but it is over 3 hours away, and would like to get feedback from shopper or vendor, for such a journey, especially with gas prices being what they are. In the past we have driven long distance to shop bird fairs, and they were a flop!

That is a very valid dilemma for any small business or vendor! Driving three-plus hours each way only to find a low-turnout fair is a massive drain on time, energy, and fuel costs. Hearing firsthand feedback from people who regularly vend or shop at the Medina event is definitely the smartest move before committing tables, inventory, and travel logistics. Hopefully, some regular attendees or local vendors chime in with how foot traffic and sales usually stack up there!

I attend this fair when it is in PA, not Ohio, so I only know PA. The venue is small but there is ample space for MORE vendors. The variety of breeders varies but there are a few regulars (a couple rescues, a few breeders, a zoo), and there are a couple toy vendors, though in my experience, the toy vendors gear toward larger birds, not smaller, and I would love to see more, as a customer. If you make treats/food/chop/etc. it is also needed!

It can be rowdy, families are drawn to the show and the children do not always have the best manors, so I'm sure it could get overwhelming for the birds. As a customer, it's the closest bird-specific place I can go for toys, etc. and I can easily spend a small fortune there. I don't know how well breeders do, but I did buy my latest bird from a breeder there, so if nothing else, it'll get eyes on you.

I also have not been to the Ohio one but usually work at the PA one. The rescue that I help with, PEARL, has a table at both. I don't think the one in OH is as large as the PA one but I can ask the people who normally do the OH show. The fair is under new ownership. The man who now runs it is doing more to promote the fair and I believe bring in new vendors. For the one in PA, there is usually a line waiting to get in when the doors open. Most people go in the morning and about an hour before closing, it's pretty dead. You're not permitted to tear down early and have to wait until the show closes. I believe Parrot Hope also does the Ohio show, another rescue. There are usually a handful of breeders. At least in PA, another 2-5 toy vendors. Natural Inspirations is at the PA one- sells cages. Not sure if she goes to OH also but I would assume so. Then there are people who sell misc bird things- mugs with birds on then etc. Maybe email the owner and ask the average number of attendees at the show. Although, like I said, he just took over, I believe this year- maybe end of last year.
