Hello, everyone! About a month ago I bought a young Derbyan who will be 6 months old on October 4th. At the store on the day I bought him, I was told that he was a DNA-sexed male. However, now I'm being told that he might actually be a she because his/her beak is turning black instead of orange. They offered to do a free DNA test which I declined because it will become evident in time due to the Derbyan's sexual dimorphism (plus, it doesn't matter to me if they are a boy or a girl). Anyway, for those of you who have Derbyans or experience with them: when does their beak color come in? The few resources online say their colors don't come in all the way until 18-24 months old but it was unclear if they meant just feathers or beaks as well.
Thanks in advance!
