My sweet macaw has been going through his twice a year nutso hormonal Time for at least a couple months. I've read all the articles and information about things to try but he's completely different than the other times. I'm so afraid he's going to die of exhaustion. He constantly digs on the carpet or any material panting till his beak and feet are very hot to the touch. He trys to feed everything he comes in contact with. He never spits up . Just won't ever relax even when we go outside or quiet tv time. Any experiences like mine I can learn from would be greatly appreciated.

I have macaws, but no experience with what you're describing (to that degree, at least), so hopefully others will offer something useful.
Is there a way he could be kept off the carpet while he's in that mode?
Is his schedule held constant and routine?
