Hmm... I don't really know what chemicals it could be talking about! Probably something that's inside the paint on the cage. I have had this cage for many many years and use it as my cockatiel's temporary sleep cage in the living room, and I've never had any problems with it. I would guess that the reason they post the warning is because if your bird ate the chipped off paint it could be harmful, but this is something you have to watch out for with any cage.
