I have a 25 year old male green wing macaw that I adopted 2 years ago that lately has gotten aggressive or hormonal after I shower and return to the room. He is fine before I leave but when I return he is wings out, poofy and eyes are pinning. He has showered with me before and been fine, and he didn't always react this way. Nothing has changed, no smells or haircuts/colors. Any ideas what's going on?

Do you have a towel on your head? Wet hair? Something is different. How long does it last?
I do sometimes have a towel on, but he hasn't usually been bothered. My hair is also wet, but he also doesn't usually mind.
He will be that way for the rest of the day. He chomped me on the inner elbow and usually swipes at me any time I go past him for the rest of the day.

Is it ONLY after you shower or other instances of you returning to the room? Does the behavior occur if he joins you in the shower as well?
