Poor Oni butt blasted

We have to medicate Oni, and she got so upset when I grabbed her head that she butt blasted, and now she isn't going to be able to fly as well (and she LOVES to fly). She's acting fine otherwise, other than being very upset with me.

Has anyone had this happen to a grass keet? If so, how long did it take to grow back?

The Female house finch we rescued and raised from a tiny thing blasted her tail feathers once when I think I almost stepped on her. They take a while but grow back a little faster when their flight capability is compromised.

Thanks! I feel so bad - I know she needs the meds, but I wasn't trying to freak her out that much!
