On top of all the stress a lot of us are going through regarding certain billing issues, my hiking partner and best buddy Beans has a massive lump on his chest that popped up. The lump feels soft so I’m hopeful it’s just harmless. But it wasn’t there a few days ago and it’s baseball sized now.
Beans goes on all my hikes with me, often spending 12 hour days in the deep forest with me and the kids, warning us if a javelina or badger is too close (haven’t run into a mountain lion or bear yet thankfully).
He’s only a pup at a little over a year old. And I think I’ve reached my stress threshold lol.
His appointment is in an hour and I’ll update after.

I hope it's nothing or something that isn't dangerous and easy to take care of. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Bean. :heart2:

Awww, sending good thoughts to your beautiful Beans! I wonder if he's having an allergic reaction to an insect bite. I sure hope it's nothing serious. Good luck at the vet!

Blessings for Beans. Do you think he might have bumped it on something?

They just took him back to aspirate it and see what comes out. He’s being so good, eating all the treats they bribe him with.

Good news! My spaz of a dog, in his playing around, hit his chest on something so hard that he caused this massive pocket of serum and blood to fill (about small watermelon size by the time of the appointment). Sounds bad, but it’s good because he just needs cold compresses four times a day, some antibiotics and anti inflammation meds. I should have guessed he’d be crazy enough to whack himself on a wall or piece of farm fencing, I’ve just never seen one of these so big. Even the vet said this is the largest he’s seen. Way to scare me Beans :faint:.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes!

That's good news! Glad it's easily treatable. Give that cutie a big hug for me!

That's great. I thought that it increased way too fast for a tumor/mass. I was wrong though - I thought he had gotten a stick or something poked in him - but I was close.
