Hello...

Please help me .. I have a female & a male cockatiel and they are constantly mating, I have also noticed that my male late at night has started singing and dancing. my male is always in and out of the nesting box making lots of noise in there, this has been going on for nearly 2 weeks now, sometimes my female pops her head in the hole to see what he is doing and has only gone fully into the box 3 or 4 times but doesn't stay in there for long. she has done this while he is still in there and when he hasn't been in there.
#1 why is this?
#2 will she eventually go into the nest and lay eggs?
#3 how long will this go on for? (him in there everyday rummaging around)

I have attached some photos of my cockatiels ... I was told the female one is the lutino ? & The grey is the male? is this correct?

Thank you

Do you want to/had planned to breed your tiels? If not, then I would remove the nest box as that can encourage the hen to lay eggs.

I think you’re best off to remove the nest box.

Can I ask why the huge glove is being worn in the last pic?

Welcmoe to the Avenue,

The box needs more shavings than that. A couple of inches deep, no bare box at all.
I´m also curious about the glove.

#1 why is this?
#2 will she eventually go into the nest and lay eggs?

1. A bird won´t just go in the box and lay right off the bat. They like to ¨make a nest¨.
2. It´s impossible to know.
3. As above.
