Emilie it is understandable that you feel wierd about having someone else take care of your bird but wont you feel better knowing he is being checked on? Can you leave a radio on low, some quiet music to keep him company? He will do fine as long as someone is checking on him. :hug8:

Yeah but its just sad, I wish I could bring him.
He doesnt even like toys, He likes being outside of his cage with people.
I guess I'll ask my neighbors then, to come in once a day an talk to him and change his food and water.

I do have a schedule though and i dont think they can manage this,
Wake up uncover cage at 7 am
Breakfast :) Usually apples and nutriberries and seed.
then hes out until lunch which he usually eats outside of his cage.
Then supper and nightnight :) at 8pm

Emilie, the power could go out and freeze the house.

Emilie when any of us leave our birds, their schedules arent like what we do for them, we cant expect other people to be as nuts as us! :hehe: He will be fine but you really need to have someone check on him.

:O
Now your just scaring me !
Another worry to add to the list
-How to keep tiki from dying of hypothermia

I dont think that would happen.
That never happens to my house.
Were going to make sure that his room will be heated.

I agree with Danita Emilie, dont have your neighbors take him out, they arent comfortable with handling birds. Can your food and water dishes be changed from outside of the cage? Please think positive, dont worry worry worry because worrying creates future events. Picture your bird safe and happy in his cage, getting what he needs for food, water and a safe place to be and you will be back before you know it, ok?

he needs *fresh* water everyday.. not just bowls left around..

I would take him to the neighbors. Maybe he won't be out of the cage, but its better than being left alone with no fresh water!

The bowls can be changed from the outside.

Oh good, so they could change his dishes without opening the cage, I think I would feel better about that if it were me. I know I still worry when I leave my birds too but I call my birdsitter everyday when I am gone to check on them. I always feel better after I talk to her. Can you call your neighbor to check up on your birds? I think the webcam is a great idea!

Im afraid to bring Tiki to their house because hes very loud. And theyll probably get very annoyed. So I guess they could just come over then.
Thanks everyone it really actually helps

Emile...I go over to my friends house and feed her lovebird and Senegal when they go away. I also change the cage. I NEVER take them out. Even though these birds are out all the time with her and her husband that is the plan we use for her birds. They are just fine and happy when my friends return. So please do not worry as long as you have a responsible person coming in to check your birds and feed them. Just fo and have a good time.
