I'm taking Pita with me tomorrow to TGF so Dr Noel (the TGF vet) can look at him. I showed her pics of his chest on Saturday at The Bird Brain, and she and several others seem to think he may be plucking. She said it could be anything. He's going to be 4 on the 11th, and she said he's a teenager, and may be very hormonal, or going thru a bad molt and is irritated......etc etc.
Nothing in his diet has changed, except, I got some of that rice & vegie cookable stuff at The Bird Brain, and it seems to have started after that. BUT....around 3 weeks ago, he started dropping his big tail & wing feathers, like in a normal molt, and thats also when this started. He's got several new tail feathers coming in, and lots of pins. Nothing in his routine, or behaviour has changed, except the preening. He gets a good soaking once or twice a day.
So anyway.....we'll see what she says. I hope nothing is wrong with him....I worry to much.
