I am purchasing a baby pionus and the baby's beak is yellow with black discoloration. Is this normal? Does the discoloration change as the baby gets older?

What species of pionus?

Many species of parrot do have different colored beaks as babies :)

Yep, totally normal for bronze wingeds, maxis and white caps - haven't seen chicks of the other species. Babies often have dark beaks or dark streaks on their beaks. Adults have solid coloured beaks.

Thank you. It is a white cap pionus.
Totally normal. The black streaks will fade as the bird ages, and by the time she or he is a year old, the beak will be a solid yellow.
