Hello! Today I noticed that my African Grey has a small pink spot on his face. He’s been scratching his face and his nail clipping appointment has been pushed back. His nails are quite long (and sharp). I feel so badly :(
I’m going to see if there’s somewhere else reputable I can get it done. Also I want to know if I should be worried or if this is just a simple scratch (it isn’t bloody or anything) 420D4CB9-99FB-4576-967D-A0BC482569A9.jpeg 5B87CE27-84E9-4469-9AF8-C944E671C18F.jpeg

mmm pic is blurry, is it bloody? He might have just scratched himself. If it doesn't heal quickly see a vet. Paco scratched his belly one time and it healed on its own. It was a thin scratch, not a spot or pink.

Looks like he bonked his head there and that is the bruise from it. Nerd had white skin around his eyes and used to run into things when he tried to fly and got the same kind of red spots. He always healed up fine and was with me for 31 years.

Astro often gets these, either by scratching herself or a branch scratching her face or something. It heals on its own. Is your swollen? If it isn't swollen I wouldn't worry. If it is swollen keep an eye on it but still I don't think it should be serious enough to see a vet unless the swelling doesn't go away and it is infected somehow.
