Pink pigeon spotted just east of my hometown. I don't think it has been confirmed if genuine or a dyed bird but here's the link anyway to take a look,

The video is shakey and no zoom but you can see it.

Wow! How cool! :jawdrop1: Thanks for sharing.

I wonder if their pink color has contributed to their decline. They're highly visible and make an easy target.

I've never seen a pink so bright! I think the only way it could not be genuine is by taking pictures of normal pigeons and changing the hue.
I just learned something new today:their are in fact pink pigeons.

That's so neat! A pink pigeon. Just when you though pigeons couldn't get any better, along comes a hot pink one.

I'd say that's just a white pigeon dyed pink. There's been multiple spotted, and honestly it just looks like dyed to me. Here's a few other photos a bit more up close,

Some pigeon fanciers that free fly their birds have been dying them to make them less appetizing to the hawks and falcons, some people believe it confuses and/or scares the falcons so they don't go after them.

And the real pink pigeons (Nesoenas mayeri),

How interesting! I was thinking it may have been the opposite (higher visibility easier target) but that makes sense. Thanks!

I don't think you could dye a bird just because of their delicate respatory systems.

you must be too young to remember dyed Easter chicks.
It is either sprayed on the chick or injected into the embryo thru a small hole in the eggshell
DYED Easter Chicks???

Definitely dyed. My guess is that it's either a racing pigeon that's been dyed to deter hawks, or that it's a "white" dove that would be released at ceremonies and some enterprising company has decided to offer their customers a range of coloured doves.
