Hello. Today I noticed some pink discoloration around our GCC, Westley's eyes. He's acting completely normal. He's eating and drinking. Does anybody have any idea of what it could be? Should we be concerned at all? Thank you.

It's possible that he scratched himself or rubbed against the cage and irritated the area. Monitor the eye ring and if it doesn't clear up or if it swells or the redness gets worse take him to the vet.
I've had that happen a few times with some red-bellied parrots. Sometimes the redness has gone away but sometimes I've had to take them to the vet.

Could it be an allergic reaction? Hope it’s no big deal.

I think he may have just irritated his eye a bit...but if hes just acting like normal just keep an eye on it if not better within 2 or 3 days go to his vet :)

Looks very similar to the red and pink marks my boy gets on his pretty white skin when he plays rough or bangs himself on something.

I’m not saying it’s the same thing but I can’t help wonder if it’s just a slight bruise?

Cheeky gets raspberry on her eye area sometimes. First time it alarmed me. Is there anything red around he could have rubbed it on

Thank you all for replying! We were pretty sure it's just a scratch because he is due for a nail trim, but we just wanted to be sure. The pink is almost all gone now. Thank you for the input!
