I have the same thing, where I don't really like to give my pets names that I find a lot of other similar species have.
And I thought your vasa was another vasa when you first came because there is another Darwin vasa.
But whatever you pick, I'm sure will be great.
You could try a name that ties into Shadow's somehow?

Its a medium jungle orb. His feet are a bit bigger, but keep in mind I dont think he is quite full grown. Shadow didnt stop growing until at least 18months.
Some name ideas:
Itzal - Basque name meaning "shadow".
Zilla - Variant spelling of the English Zillah, meaning "shadow".
Oh! And my original name idea for my future vasa was Tesla. Full name Tesla Dactyl.
You may not like Tesla, but Dactyl is a really great name for a species as "primitive" as a vasa.
Can't wait to know his name, whatever it turns out to be. :3
