Naturally I mean my HORSE, not my hubby!

This is Courage, my 11 yr old holsteiner gelding. I got him in 2005 and used him as a hunter-jumper until 2009 when he fractured a bone in his left rear foot. We did rehab for that, and he was recovering well, when the barn owner decided (against my instructions, and the vet's) to turn him out to run. He ran so hard that he injured a tendon.

That was June of last year, and we are just now finishing up rehab for that. So now he's retired from jumping and we are doing dressage. Much to my surprise, I really enjoy dressage! It's very intricate and precise, and we're creating a much more harmonious relationship between me and Courage as we progress.

And this is my daughters horse Cordini, a 19 yr old holsteiner. He and Courage are related, distant cousins. He used to be a breeding stallion at Hilltop Farms, and did the big jumpers. Now he's retired from jumping and Chantelle uses him for lower level dressage.

Sooo pretty! I have an Arabian. I used to do dressage and such but now I am into Natural horsemanship. I still do jumping but I do it with no bits and such.

I love this horse so much that I got his name tattooed on my forearm! We've gone through a lot together and he has REALLY taught me how to ride and trust him. My whole life, I've dreamed of owning a horse like this. I feel incredibly lucky to have him.

Horses are some of the most amazing creatures. Beautiful, and I'm glad you are both enjoying dressage. You should read "She Flies Without Wings, How Horses Touch A Woman's Soul." My mom bought it for me when I was 13 or so after my Appaloosa mare died. AWESOME book (not about death).
